Gemini is currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance person to join our team in Taylor, TX. This is a 1st shift position, and the minimum starting pay is $22.21 per hour, taking experience into consideration. Benefits start in less than 30 days!
Job Function
Works under limited supervision, performs a variety of welding, fabricating, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work. May provide work direction to other maintenance and custodial persons.
Specific Job Duties
- Reads and understands blueprints and wiring diagrams used in diagnosing mechanical or electrical problems
- Performs construction, fabrication, welding, and remodeling projects, building walls, shelving, storage bins, or similar fixtures, hanging ceilings, pouring concrete, duct work, and other related jobs.
- Evaluates site requirements and recommends new or modified equipment; installs technical equipment, making electrical, air, and water connections, and aligns equipment for production use.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical and electrical failures of CNC and PLC controlled production and facilities equipment; repairs and modifies equipment to improve efficiency.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs as required and directed.
- Installs or replaces lighting fixtures and repairs electrical wiring when needed.
- Initiates parts requisitions, obtaining quotations from approved vendors for plant equipment.
- Conducts periodic inspections of production equipment.
- Maintains records of replacement parts and equipment for emergency repairs.
- Ensures the appearance of buildings and grounds exceeds expectations.
- Follows safety procedures, uses all safety devices and equipment, and notifies management of safety issues; performs NFPA 70E PPE inspections and wears PPE when required.
- Checks company vehicles, repairs or delivers vehicles for required work.
- Operates snow removal equipment and spreads sand as necessary.
- Maintains positive relationships with department employees and superiors, and leads respectful communication.
- Maintains preventive maintenance schedules and develops related reports.
- Provides work direction to maintenance and custodial personnel as required.
- Performs similar duties as assigned and leads projects requiring multiple resources and strong communication.
Position Requirements
- 2-year degree in a technical field
- 3+ years electrical experience in industrial settings
- 3+ years welding/fabrication experience
- 3+ years troubleshooting industrial machinery, including hydraulic and mechanical breakdowns
- Ability to wear respirator
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
- Plumbing experience
- HVAC and CNC experience
