Job description

MILLWRIGHT

Location: OPELIKA, ALABAMA

Our Millwright position plays a vital role in our company's continuous improvement efforts through troubleshooting, predictive, and preventative maintenance. As part of a high-performing team, you will work safely with all machinery within the mill.

Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain industrial equipment, including conveying systems, major machine centers such as debarkers, canters, gang saws, and edgers.
• Read and interpret drawings and printed instructions.
• Work safely under high-pressure situations as a self-starter.
• Understand line-ups of pumps, sheaves, sprockets, and machine centers.
• Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Adjust tension on nuts and bolts or position parts with hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, and micrometers.
• Assemble and install equipment with hand and power tools.
• Lay out mounting holes and drill with power drills.
• Replace defective parts and adjust clearances and alignments.
• Level bedplates and establish centerlines.
• Dismantle machines and attach moving parts and subassemblies.

Qualifications:

• Prioritize safety and comply with company policies.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Own basic tools.
• Minimum 3 years verifiable industrial/manufacturing millwright experience.
• Experience with cutting torches (Oxygen/Acetylene) and welding (GMAW and SMAW).
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, overtime, and be on-call.
• Complete assessments, drug screen, physical, and background check.
