Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machinery and related equipment in a precision manufacturing setting.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, safe operation, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while communicating effectively with coworkers. Training may be provided to develop skills on CNC grinding and machining tools.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work with limited supervision and follow directions.
• Strong communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential.
• Preventive industrial maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with CNC grinding and/or machining equipment is a plus.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools is required.
• Ability to follow all safety protocols and comply with standards.
• Capability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and adjust for optimal operation.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment.
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics.
• Occasionally fabricate replacement parts.
• Perform general preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Provide training to less experienced maintenance staff when needed.

Brief Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines and various other machinery.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include

• Examine machines to diagnose issues, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment
• Repair CNC machines and/or robotics
• May occasionally make replacement parts
• General preventative maintenance of machinery
• May need to provide work training to less experienced maintenance staff

What skills and experience are needed

• Ability to work under limited supervision with minimal technical guidance
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
• Preventive industrial maintenance experience preferred, but not required
• Candidates with previous experience with CNC grinding and/or machining equipment, a plus!
• General knowledge and skill with basic hand tools
• Ability to follow all safety protocols and ensure compliance with company and industry standard
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.+

Work Environment

Well-lit temperature-controlled machine shop. Employees will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Employees will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
