Job description

Suncoast Post-Tension Ltd, a Keller Company, is an established post tension and rebar manufacturing company that has been in business for over 30 years. We supply construction related materials to builders from one of our eight manufacturing facilities in the US. We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team in Dallas, Texas.

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the installation and maintenance of industrial equipment and ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns while ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
  • Instal new production equipment.
  • Maintain inventories of equipment parts and supplies by determining failure frequency, checking stock and placing orders
  • Service and maintain equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems,and production-related equipment.
  • Train production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
  • Inspect and assess the functionality of production machines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical breakdowns.
  • Adjust mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
  • Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks.
  • Prepare and submits maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing informationand trends
  • In-depth use of knowledge with mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems;and using precision measuring tools.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.Strong welding skills are a plus.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules,calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, andalignment equipment.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques;monitoring compliance, irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, andregulations.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED (General Education Degree) required.
  • Technical school or College a plus.

Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus.

Required background

  • 5 or more years experience as an industrial maintenance technician required; corrective / breakdown experience preferred
  • Applicant must be familiar with the use of :

Lubrication systems

  • Applicant must be proficient reading and Interpreting Blueprints, Mechanical and Electrical Prints.
  • Applicants must be able to troubleshoot the following systems and processes while working the floor. (Mostly Rockwell Automation but not limited to) :

AC Drive

DC Drives

Servo Drives

AC, DC, and Servo Motors

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Basic computer and report writing skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
  • Learns and applies standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
  • Demonstrates a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • Takes responsibility for self-performance (Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently).
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results and meeting expectations.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, after hours and weekends may be required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage workload with changing priorities while achieving project deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Able to identify, address, and manage conflict by finding root causes and resolutions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk and use hands to hold and operate objects, tool, or controls.
  • Able to reach with hands, arms, kneel, bend, crouch, climb ladders / stairs and twist body if necessary.
  • Have the ability to lift 75 pounds.

Additional Information

Salary Range : $20-$32 per hour DOE

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant internal and external experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, geographical location or other factors permitted by law
