This position can potentially be located anywhere in the continental U.S.

Purpose: Reporting to the Equipment Experience Manager, the Equipment Service Technician is responsible for the installation, service and support, and training of IMI’s MILCURE wheel refinishing and ALUMINATOR aluminum wheel cleaning systems.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Travel 60 – 65% with some weekends and evenings required.
  • Troubleshoot equipment operating and maintenance issues with customers by telephone and guide them through adjustments and minor repair procedures.
  • Document all activities in CRM to increase efficiency in daily time management, provide management with visibility/reporting and identification of sales opportunities.
  • Work with Sales & Service Team on advising users about equipment operating issues and completion of minor repairs/adjustments.
  • Available for emergency and service work, including travel to customer site to resolve issues.
  • Work toward satisfactory solutions to major issues which will include site visits and discussion with leadership and Sales & Service Team.


Equipment Installations – Standard and Custom

  • Pre-installation calls for the purpose of coordinating and confirming customer requirements.
  • Follow-up calls with customers after installation or service has been completed.
  • Coordinate orders with customer, Sales, and Operations.
  • Pre-installation site visit if necessary.
  • Travel to customer locations to install new equipment and perform service and preventive maintenance on existing equipment within the United States and Canada.
  • Provide onsite training for equipment operators and managers on proper and safe use of equipment, optimization of equipment, and suggested maintenance schedule.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development with observations and suggestions for securing and expanding business relationships with customers.
  • Participate in periodic ongoing training to improve product knowledge and competitive position.
  • Conduct service audits to ensure customers operating within service agreements have minimal downtime.
  • Work with New Product Development as needed.
  • Work with Sales Team identifying new sales opportunities and testing across MILCURE solutions.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Graduate of technical or trade school preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience: 3 – 5 years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of high-volume industrial and/or commercial equipment and machinery. Experience with blasting equipment and machinery is a plus.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • High mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience. Electrical knowledge is a plus.
  • Proven ability to complete installation and maintenance assignments on time with first visit resolution.
  • Ability to travel frequently and independently for multi-day periods within the U.S. and Canada.
  • Able to plan travel and book airline, rental cars, and hotel accommodations.
  • Positive, upbeat disposition and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 lbs. and to move as much as 100 lbs.
  • Capable of working in hot, cold, and shop environments.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Valid U.S. Passport (provided by company)
  • Equipment layout and design experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with PCs and applicable software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and customer database applications.
