Job summary

CRH is seeking a maintenance technician in Cincinnati to oversee preventive maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery under the Maintenance Supervisor.

Typical schedule is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with flexibility for overtime; you will test and troubleshoot, install and repair production equipment, and keep the work area safe and orderly.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and manuals.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand/power tools.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belts, mechanics, electrical, and carpentry.
  • Familiarity with CMMS system and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork, safety conscious.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures.
  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned.
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and ensure proper operation safely and promptly.
  • Install equipment and electrical components and test for proper function.
  • Dismantle equipment to access/replace defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
  • Carry out MIG/Stick welding, torch cutting, and light machining as required.
  • Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, and maintain equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Collaborate with mobile mechanics as needed.
  • Perform other duties related to job scope as required.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for the overall preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. The position requires work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with flexibility for overtime.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures
  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through to assure proper operation in a safe, timely manner
  • Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
  • Mig/Stick welding, torch cutting, and light machining as required
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, change, and clean parts/equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly
  • Work occasionally with mobile mechanic as needed
  • Perform other duties related to the nature of the job as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis
Job Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience and training, or comparable education
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step‑by‑step instructions
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability are essential
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry
  • Knowledge of CMMS system and its function
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work with a team or independently
  • Full understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Familiarity with lock‑out tag‑out procedures
  • Work safely and efficiently to maintain plant support
  • Lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects that may weigh up to 80 lbs; assistance is advised for heavier objects
  • Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Work in manufacturing conditions such as hot or cold temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt
