Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, seeks a Maintenance Technician to oversee preventative maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery across the plant. You will work under the Maintenance Supervisor and may assist mobile mechanics or plant personnel to keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities include installing, adjusting, and repairing production equipment, welding, testing and troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on plant structures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/equivalent or comparable in training, education, or experience.
  • Technical or vocational school certification or equivalent in training or experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step-by-step instructions.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, mechanics, electricity, carpentry, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned.
  • Operate hand and power tools to repair, grease, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned.
  • Welding, torching, and light machining as required.
  • Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance to plant structures.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and follow through with these repairs to assure proper operation of equipment in a safe, timely manner.
  • Install equipment and/or electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning.
  • Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
  • Replace and install parts as needed.
  • Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Job Summary
