  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, Biology, Geology, or another scientific/technical discipline
  • OR equivalent combination of technical coursework and hands-on field experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and industrial equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely work in physically demanding environments
  • Comfortable traveling overnight as needed
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 300 feet
  • Strong commitment to safety and following established procedures
  • Ability to learn technical sampling, testing, and monitoring processes

Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental and chemistry-related sampling activities at industrial and utility sites
  • Collect gas, water, or environmental samples using specialized equipment
  • Operate, inspect, and maintain sampling systems, fittings, tubing, and related hardware
  • Safely install, connect, disconnect, and troubleshoot sampling equipment in the field
  • Document sampling activities, observations, and compliance-related information
  • Follow established environmental, safety, and operational procedures
  • Travel to customer and project sites, including overnight travel when required
  • Work closely with engineers, chemists, and field technicians to support environmental compliance initiatives
  • Work outdoors and at elevated heights as project needs require

  • Experience working around pumps, valves, gas systems, piping, fittings, or mechanical equipment
  • Prior field technician, environmental technician, tower technician, construction, industrial maintenance, operations, or manufacturing experience
  • Experience reading technical documentation, drawings, or procedures
  • OSHA, safety, confined space, fall protection, or related certifications
  • Experience collecting samples, performing inspections, or documenting field data
  • Comfortable working outside of a traditional office or laboratory setting
