Sorbothane Inc., an established manufacturing company of visco-elastic materials located in Kent, Ohio, has an opening for a Production Maintenance Technician I.

General Requirements and Responsibilities:

The Production Maintenance Technician I performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems. They follow standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness. The technician performs equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems, and logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system. All safety procedures must be followed. A high school diploma is required. The technician reports to the Plant Manager and works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Candidates should have a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job and at least 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing plant.

Other Responsibilities and Duties:

• Start up production machines each day following standard procedures.
• Mix raw materials as needed for each machine.
• Change over machine colors as needed.
• Perform building maintenance repairs as needed.
• Recycle or dispose of solvents and materials properly.
• Operate production machines as needed.

Perform other tasks and projects as required by the Production Manager.

Job Details:

• Type: Full Time
• Hours: 5:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday
• Wage: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
