Job summary

Colonial Group seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician in Alabama to service plant systems, pumps, and related equipment. The role emphasizes safe repair work, coordination with engineers and operators, and oversight of contractor activities.

You will track work orders and materials using the plant’s systems while fabricating parts and performing welds as needed. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years in the trade or an apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• HS diploma preferred; relevant trade experience acceptable.
• Five years of recent trade experience or completion of an apprenticeship.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to understand written instructions and logs.
• Basic math skills and ability to use a hand calculator.
• Experience using plant Work Order system.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and lift/move equipment.
• Capacity to work in inclement weather and safety-conscious.
• Safety-focused and able to operate with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance and repair work on plant systems via work orders.
• Perform pump maintenance including seals, power ends, diaphragms, and oil changes.
• Troubleshoot relief valve settings and coordinate with plant staff.
• Coordinate with engineers and operators to safely maintain systems.
• Oversee contractor work and manage work orders and requisitions.
• Fabricate parts and weld components as needed.
• Track materials, supplies, and contractor activities in systems.
• Perform landscaping and general housekeeping on plant grounds.
• Adhere to Company policies and safety procedures.
