Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a leading sustainable packaging company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve preprint manufacturing equipment. You will support printing presses, laminators, unwind/rewind systems, and material handling equipment to maximize reliability and productivity.

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong skills in electrical systems, motors, PLCs, pneumatics,

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting in industrial electrical systems, motors, and control systems.
• Experience with PLCs and automation is preferred.
• Proficiency reading schematics, blueprints, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on preprint production equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system failures.
• Support flexographic presses, unwind/rewind systems, laminators, slitters, and material handling equipment.
• Diagnose root causes of downtime and implement corrective actions.
• Perform alignment, bearing replacement, gearbox repair, conveyor maintenance, and drive adjustments.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, VFDs, motor controls, and automation systems.
• Complete work orders and PM documentation accurately.
• Follow LOTO, machine guarding and safety procedures.
