Job summary

Grace, a leading specialty chemicals manufacturer, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic at the Curtis Bay plant in Baltimore, MD. You will support the plant's mechanical maintenance program, performing preventive and reactive maintenance and fabricating parts to keep operations running smoothly.

Candidates should have 5+ years of related experience, be able to read drawings, and pass aptitude tests. The role may require rotating shifts and adherence to safety protocols in hazardous environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related mechanical maintenance experience.
• Must pass a written and hands-on mechanical aptitude test.
• Basic proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
• Welding certifications (AWS) and CMMS experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs precision repairs to plant mechanical equipment and devices.
• Troubleshoots plant equipment and performs effective repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance and fabricates/replaces parts.
• Disassembles/reassembles equipment to access components.
• Operates drill press, grinders and other metalworking tools.
• Welds using stick, MIG, and TIG as needed.
• Installs and aligns machinery for maximum performance.
• Reads drawings and maintains housekeeping in work areas.
• Work in confined spaces and heavy environment conditions.
