Job summary

Skana Aluminum Company in Manitowoc, WI, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep heavy industrial equipment running and to support the fabrication of high-quality aluminum coils. You’ll perform proactive maintenance, diagnose electrical systems, and troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs in a fast-paced plant.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in electro-mechanical maintenance, strong safety knowledge, and ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• 3+ years electro-mechanical experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
• Strong understanding of LOTO and general safety processes.
• Experience with heavy industrial equipment (cranes, forklifts, presses, furnaces).
• Familiarity with PLCs and VFDs; able to read blueprints/schematics.
• Machining experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Proactive and preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and machine reliability.
• Diagnose and repair electronic circuits, relays, transformers, and other electrical components.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs to restore operation quickly.
• Install, maintain, and repair automatic controls, generating equipment, large switchboards, motors, rollers, and gear reducers.
• Read and apply blueprints and schematics for construction and troubleshooting.
• Rig and rebuild machinery, including assembly/disassembly of major components.
• Work safely in confined spaces and demanding industrial environments.
• Follow strict LOTO and safety procedures at all times.
