Job summary

Wheatland Tube, LLC, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for an onsite role in Rochelle, IL. You will maintain and repair tube mill production equipment, emphasizing safety, reliability, and uptime.

This hands-on position requires strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and collaboration with maintenance and production teams. The role involves troubleshooting, reading schematics, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a heavy manufacturing environment, maintenance role preferred.
• Experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
• Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and precision instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on production equipment following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Ensure guards and safety devices are functioning before equipment operation.
• Monitor inventory levels of maintenance parts and coordinate ordering.
• Utilize maintenance management systems to track and report performance and repairs.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and manuals to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and quality issues; perform breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Operates powered industrial equipment and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify safety, quality, or operational issues and escalate as needed.
