Job summary
The J. M. Smucker Co. is hiring an Engineering Operator 3 (Maintenance Tech) for 100% on-site work at the Columbus, GA facility. The role performs a full range of maintenance and engineering tasks with independent judgment, supporting both 1st and 2nd shifts.
Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining equipment, reading schematics, conducting preventive maintenance, and working with electrical systems. A high school diploma and 2 years of industrial maintenance experience are required.
Qualifications
- Requires high school diploma, or equivalent.
- 2 years of industrial maintenance required.
- Knowledge of electrical components and reading schematics.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain machinery and equipment per manuals and specs.
- Dismantle devices to access defective parts using hoists and tools.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers and measuring tools.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
- Set up and operate metalworking tools to make/repair parts.
- Repair electrical equipment and analyze electrical circuits.
- Perform preventive maintenance on critical systems.
- Ensure proper use, care, and storage of tools and equipment.
