Job summary

Hoover & Strong, Inc. in Richmond, VA, is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician I. The role starts at $24 per hour, with a Monday–Friday day shift and a focus on keeping hydraulic and electrical systems running smoothly.

You will troubleshoot, repair hydraulic machinery, pneumatics, pumps, and motors, while maintaining safe, efficient plant operations and contributing to Lean maintenance practices. This is a hands-on, growth-minded opportunity in a family-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• At least two years of documented experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is a must; electrical knowledge is an advantage.
• Knowledge of LO/TO is essential; certification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic machinery, electrical equipment, pneumatics, pumps, compressors and motors.
• Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery 75% of the time.
• Maintain and repair existing plant equipment.
• Identify problems by observing operation; use precision measuring/testing instruments.
• Manage plumbing, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; furnace knowledge a plus.
• Fabricate/repair parts using machine shop equipment.
• Observe Lean manufacturing by managing maintenance resources and on-hand supplies.
• Report maintenance information to supervisor and communicate effectively.
