Job summary

Bodycote is seeking a Maintenance Technician based in Grand Rapids, MI, to perform essential heat-treat maintenance under the Maintenance Manager. You will support preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and documentation to meet customer specifications.

The role demands strong troubleshooting, analytical skills, and teamwork, with responsibilities ranging from equipment testing to inventory management. ITAR compliance and safety awareness are required.

Qualifications

• ITAR compliance requires US citizenship or permanent residence
• Preferred: college/tech degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent plus 3–5 years industrial maintenance experience required
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation

Responsibilities

• Implement the facility's preventative maintenance program
• Conduct scheduled inspections of fluids, water, oils, filters, washers; notify supervisor of issues
• Maintain clean and organized Maintenance Department area
• Assist in equipment performance testing per guidelines
• Perform corrective actions for out-of-spec conditions as directed
• Assist in troubleshooting to maintain equipment, facilities and vehicles
• Record and document maintenance, modifications and repairs
• Maintain manuals and blueprints; provide updated information
• Run errands and procure equipment, materials, and supplies
• Operate company vehicles safely
• Report repair or maintenance needs promptly
• Suggest changes to improve efficiency, quality and safety
• Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and parts
• Perform duties to prevent customer loss or damage
• Report for work on time and follow directions
• Read/write/communicate effectively in English
