Job summary

Bodycote, based in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a Heat Treating Technician to perform essential heat treating functions under supervision. The role offers progression from entry (Level C) to senior (Level A) levels, with guidance from senior team members and opportunities to lead initiatives while mentoring others.

The position emphasizes operating, monitoring, and optimizing heat treating equipment, working under documented procedures, and collaborating with teammates to meet customer specifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; US Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
• Must have forklift certification.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.

Responsibilities

• Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
• Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
• Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
• Care and treatment of customer inventory; perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent loss or damage.
• Must be able to report for work on time, follow directions, interact with co-workers, follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
