Job summary

ABB Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on our industrial equipment.

You will read electrical schematics, perform preventative maintenance, keep repair records, and uphold safety standards, including lockout/tagout, while collaborating with machine operators.

A high school diploma is required; an associate degree or 2+ years in manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma; associate degree preferred or 2+ years related experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, control systems, and PLC troubleshooting.
• Ability to read technical documentation, diagnose machine issues, and repair heavy machinery.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics, operate electrical tools, and research technical information for repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and maintain repair records.
• Keep maintenance area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures (including lockout/tagout).
• Collaborate with machine operators and support overtime to keep equipment running reliably.
