Job summary

UPS is hiring a Building and Systems Engineering (BaSE) Mechanic for a 24x7 package handling facility in East Petersburg, PA. The role focuses on maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems, with emphasis on automation and strong electrical skills.

Shift options include 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC equipment, motors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical background and some automation experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in a 24x7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment (batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo-driven devices, sensors).
• Inspecting, repairing, and replacing mechanical components (motors, belts, bearings, conveyors).
• Inspecting, repairing pneumatic systems (diverters, hoses) and hydraulic equipment (hoses, cylinders).
• Welding and fabricating as needed for supports and safety rails.
• Performing preventive maintenance on conveyors and other plant equipment.
