Job summary

Hood Container Corporation in Sumter, SC is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our corrugate operations on the 3rd shift. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on corrugate equipment, troubleshoot drives, motors, gearboxes, belts, and PLC‑controlled machines.

The role requires hands‑on maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work under production pressure.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Hands‑on maintenance experience required.
Experience in a corrugated packaging plant is a plus.
A relevant technical degree, certification, or completed apprenticeship may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on corrugate equipment (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
Troubleshoot and repair drives, motors, gearboxes, belts, rollers, glue systems, steam systems, and controls.
Diagnose breakdowns under production pressure and restore equipment safely and quickly.
Read and interpret schematics, electrical prints, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams, and PLC documentation.
Work with AC/DC drives, VFDs, servo systems, encoders, and PLC‑controlled corrugator equipment.
Document maintenance work in the CMMS system.
Collaborate with operations to improve machine reliability and uptime.
