Job summary

RTX is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a 3rd shift role in Middletown, PA. The candidate will maintain machinery, monitor fluid systems, and perform regular preventive maintenance on production equipment.

The job requires basic mechanical and electrical aptitude, and experience with MS Office tools. Responsibilities include equipment upkeep, cleaning tasks, waste handling per EHS guidelines, and reporting defects to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• General mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or fluid power systems; MS Office experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fluid levels in machinery, document usage, and monitor fluid inventory; operate forklifts and aerial lifts; perform pre-operational inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the work area; manage washer fluids and proper labeling; handle waste materials per EHS guidelines.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled cleaning of cutting fluid tanks; remove buildup in machines and tanks; service parts washers and replace deionized water bottles.
• Use barrel vacuum systems to recover fluids; report defects and malfunctions to supervisor; comply with OSHA rules; perform preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics.
• Adhere to EH&S guidelines and wear required PPE; may perform additional tasks to support department objectives.
• Use basic hand tools, work from heights, stand for long periods, and maintain focus and dexterity.

This is a 3rd shift opportunity: Monday to Friday (10pm-6am)

What You Will Do

• Maintain fluid levels in machinery, document usage, and monitor fluid inventory, change filters on machinery as needed, pperate forklifts and aerial lifts as required, including pre-operational inspection and log.
• Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas in the facility, maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work area, maintain proper soap to water ratios in washers by using titration kits, maintain non-hazardous waste collection and storage areas to include barrels, tote, solid waste hoppers, prepare waste material containers for shipment per EHS guideline, including proper labeling and documentation and operate and maintain fluids filtration equipment.
• Perform scheduled / unscheduled cleaning of cutting fluid tanks, clean and wipe down machinery, remove the buildup of process swarf, grit, and fragments in machines and tanks.
• Empty and clean oil skimmers, clean and service parts washers and remove and replace Deionized Water bottles.
• Use of barrel vacuum system to recover fluids.
• Reporting defects, damages, and malfunctions of any kind to the supervisor, complying with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules (OSHA) while working, perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as scheduled, perform and document basic electrical and mechanical diagnostics and repairs on production equipment.
• Adhere to all EH&S guidelines, including wearing of required personal protective equipment.PWA
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
• Use basic hand tools and equipment, work from heights, including ladders and aerial lifts, be on your feet for long periods of time, work in awkward positions for extended periods, Good manual dexterity, remain focused and alert during tasks.
