Job summary

Dal-Tile Corp. is seeking an experienced maintenance technician for nights, tasked with troubleshooting PLCs, programming and maintaining electrical systems in a manufacturing setting. The role involves reading blueprints, performing process improvements and leading projects to keep production safe and efficient.

Candidates should have 4+ years in industrial maintenance and 2+ years in industrial electrical work, plus PLC training. Basic computer skills (MS Office) are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of electrical code.
• Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred.
• 4+ years industrial maintenance experience and 2+ years industrial electrical experience; formal PLC training preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLCs using handheld device or laptop.
• Design and redesign program and software for PLCs and operator panels.
• Install, maintain or repair equipment for generation, distribution or utilization of electrical energy in manufacturing.
• Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment from blueprints, drawings, layouts or specifications.
• Read and interpret procedures in English; test motors and electrical circuits with a voltmeter and amp meter.

MajorFunctionandScope:

• TroubleshootPLCs(ProgrammableLogicController)usinghandhelddeviceorlaptop.
• Designandredesignprogramandsoftware(PLCs,operatorpanels,etc).
• Formatharddrivesandinstalltothecomputers(ComputerSetup)andPCapplication.
• Installs,maintainsorrepairsequipmentforthegeneration,distributionorutilizationofelectricalenergyinamanufacturingenvironment.
• Locatesanddiagnosistroubleinelectricalsystemsorequipmentworkingfromblueprints,drawings,layoutsorotherspecifications.
• Worksstandardcomputationsrelatedtoloadrequirementsofwiringand/orelectricalequipment.
• KnowledgeofSerialportcommunicationsystems,VFDs(VariableFrequencyDrives)andprocesscontrolinstrumentationdevices(thermocouples, pressureswitches,etc).
• KnowledgeofServomotorsanddriveunits.
• Continuouslyreviewingtheirrespectiveareaforideasandthoughtsthatwilldriveproductivityandreducecostswithintheorganizationandbeabletoprofessionallyspeaktotheirsolutionforimprovement.
• Processimprovement(Planandsubmitprocessimprovementsandexecutetheplan).
• Usesavarietyofelectricianstoolsincludingmeasuringandtestinginstruments.

ExperienceandKnowledgeRequired:

• Highschooldiplomaorequivalentexperience.Knowledgeofelectricalcode.
• Associatedegreeinindustrialelectronicspreferred.
• 4ormoreyearsindustrialmaintenanceexperienceand2yearsindustrialelectricalexperience.FormalPCLtrainingpreferred.
• Basiccomputerknowledge(MicrosoftOffice).
