Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is seeking a Supervisor - Maintenance to plan, schedule and direct daily maintenance activities for multi-skill mechanics and contractors at our Michigan facility. You will collaborate with engineering, assign and oversee work, ensure downtime is minimized, and maintain thorough documentation.

The role requires a BSME/BSMET or equivalent, mechanical inclination, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan/Schedule work orders. Supervise the activities of Maintenance personnel assigned to their area.
• Work closely with engineering to ensure capital projects are implemented with maintenance concerns addressed.
• Assign and direct work to meet maintenance requirements, while coordinating to meet production schedules with a minimum of downtime and cost.
• Check all completed work before releasing equipment to Operations Department. Ensure build/repair documentation is completed and recorded.
• Participate in continuous improvement of preventative maintenance / basic care and documentation.
• Issue direct and storeroom requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to perform Electrical Maintenance work.
• Administer company policy, enforce company rules & regulations. Maintain discipline & administer Union-Management Agreement.
• Participate in plant safety, fire prevention, housekeeping programs & maintain safe working conditions & practices to ensure compliance with State & Federal Safety Standards.
