Job summary

SSAB in Mobile, AL is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to join our heavy industrial operations. You will perform daily walk-throughs, conduct preventive maintenance, and enter work orders accurately to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy industrial experience, strong electrical/mechanical repair skills, pump maintenance, welding and cutting abilities, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of heavy industrial experience.
• Familiar with installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of pump maintenance and repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Good computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Industrial water experience.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain industrial drives.
• Experience rebuilding pumps.
• Industrial electrical experience.
• Welding and cutting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily walk through
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance
• Enter work orders accurately and timely
• Trouble shoot and correct mechanical and electrical breakdowns
• Improve process and equipment to minimize breakdowns
• Troubleshoot pump operation
• Shadow operators periodically to learn PM routes and process
• Daily Maintenance Connection and shift report input as required.
• Comply with all departmental and company safety policies and programs
