Job summary

Buckman in Memphis, TN seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic/Welder to support safe, reliable operation of a chemical batch plant. You will perform welding, fabrication, and equipment troubleshooting while adhering to safety and environmental requirements to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include welding to ASME/AWS standards, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation in the CMMS (e.g., SAP PM). 4–6 years in welding and pipe fitting with AWS certs preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; related trade school or military training; AWS weld certifications.
• 4–6 years of job experience.
• Proficiency in TIG, MIG, Stick welding; pipe fitting; blueprint reading; weld inspection.
• Familiarity with hot work permits, confined space entry, and hazardous materials handling.
• Basic CMMS usage for work order documentation (e.g., SAP PM).
• Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, manage complexity, plan, and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication to support mechanical maintenance and equipment repair.
• Fabricate and install pipe spools, supports, and structural components per P&IDs and drawings.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on mechanical systems; maintain documentation in CMMS.
• Identify opportunities to improve weld techniques, materials, and fabrication methods; participate in root cause analysis.
