Job summary

We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic/Journeyman to join Cemex US. You’ll maintain and repair industrial equipment, perform welding and fabrication work, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems to support plant operations and safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, MSHA certification (or ability to obtain), and 3–6 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; MSHA certification required or obtainable.
• 3–6 years of mechanical, welding, or maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to read technical manuals and safety documentation; good communication skills.
• Preferred: associate degree or trade certification, military experience, journeyman credentials.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and rebuild industrial equipment and systems.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and apply preventative maintenance.
• Inspect equipment, replace bearings, align machinery, and service power transmission.
• Follow safety protocols, wear PPE, and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Mentor less experienced teammates and complete maintenance documentation.
• Respond to emergency repairs and participate in major overhaul outages as required.
