Job summary

APTIM Corp. is seeking a Machinery Maintenance Mechanic in San Diego, CA to perform journey-level maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of industrial equipment supporting wastewater treatment and environmental services.

The role emphasizes safe, reliable operation and environmental compliance. You will work with pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and piping systems, documenting activities in MAXIMO and supporting facility improvements.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience preferred.
Technical school training, apprenticeship, or military mechanical experience preferred.
Experience maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and industrial equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies including LOTO and confined space requirements.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and related equipment.
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on process equipment and facility infrastructure.
Maintain documentation of maintenance activities and repair history in a CMMS such as MAXIMO.
Inspect and repair piping, valves, and rotating equipment; operate forklifts and power tools as needed.
Assist with installations, modifications, and facility improvement projects.
