Job summary

The AMES Companies, located in Ocala, FL, is seeking a Mechanical Specialist I to perform industrial mechanical maintenance and basic electrical repairs on production equipment and support systems. The role emphasizes preventive and predictive maintenance, safety, and adherence to company policies within a 600,000 square foot facility.

Working under maintenance leadership, you will support production needs, communicate issues to supervisors, and contribute to a safe, collaborative work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related experience acceptable.
• Advanced mechanical knowledge with basic electrical proficiency.
• Strong understanding of industrial equipment.
• Good communication skills mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and support systems.
• Conduct mechanical repairs and basic electrical troubleshooting and adjustments.
• Work up to, but not including, adjustments or repairs of computerized controls.
• Set up and operate equipment requiring basic electrical adjustments.
• Provide personal hand tools not supplied by the department.
• Accurately account for all working time.
• Communicate issues to supervisors and team members.
• Perform duties safely and professionally.
• Comply with company policies.
• Work effectively in a team environment and maintain attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support operations and business needs.
