Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Decatur, AL is seeking a maintenance technician to assist in the repair and preventive maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveying systems in our poultry processing plant. You will read blueprints to verify equipment operates within specifications, perform testing, identify root causes, and ensure compliance with company policies and welfare guidelines.

Night/weekend shifts and PPE provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Pass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1.
• At least 1 year of industrial maintenance or equivalent mechanical/electrical knowledge.
• Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on industrial machinery using blueprints and diagrams.
• Identify root causes of mechanical issues and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report or correct them.
• Maintain files of blueprints and operating manuals.
• Comply with all company policies and welfare guidelines.
