Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic responsible for the upkeep of the building and infrastructure to ensure safe, functional operations at all times.

The role includes maintenance of MHE, repairs, and preventive work for a busy distribution facility. Requires a high school diploma, five years of related experience, ability to work at heights up to 50 ft, and proficiency with Excel/Word.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
• Minimum of five years job-related experience required.
• Ability to operate scissor or boom lifts and work from heights (30 to 50 ft).
• Ability to work safe and utilize LOTO during repairs.
• Experience performing maintenance in industrial/warehouse settings.
• Must obtain MSC license to drive warehouse vehicles within specified time requirements.
• Knowledge and experience with 480V, 3 phase systems; troubleshooting control panels; servicing conveyor equipment.
• Experience with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes and motors; able to repair hydraulic and pneumatic components.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, inspects, repairs and services material handling equipment (MHE) per guidelines.
• Provides leadership to less experienced mechanics on complex tasks.
• Schedules routine maintenance on all equipment and performs work on MHE.
• Orders parts and completes repairs for routine maintenance.
• Enters data for work orders and maintenance time sheets.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment following quality standards and safety procedures.
• Supports the Safety Culture and participates in safety initiatives.
• Identifies and mitigates risks to associates or the business.
• Performs additional maintenance duties as needed.
