Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Tar Heel, NC seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to keep production lines running safely and efficiently.

You'll perform PMs, diagnose equipment issues, and repair or replace components, following GMP and ISO 14001 standards. We offer competitive starting pay, a $0.50/hr shift differential for 3rd shift, health insurance, retirement benefits, and relocation assistance if needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 1+ years in industrial maintenance or food manufacturing, or 4 years in similar environment.
• Technical Diploma or Associate degree from technical/vocational school preferred.
• Ability to function effectively in a team and interact with all levels of personnel and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily PMs on equipment to keep lines running.
• Diagnose machine issues and repair or replace components as needed.
• Assist other teams (Production, Quality) when required.
• Follow GMPs and safety practices in all tasks.
• Dismantle and install parts; maintain cleanliness and lubrication of equipment.
