Job summary

Savage Services in Port Arthur, TX is seeking a maintenance technician to maintain and repair coke handling equipment and related machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and keep precise records while adhering to safety rules and site procedures.

The role requires mechanical repair experience, basic electrical knowledge, PLC exposure being a plus, and familiarity with CMMS. A high school diploma is required; some positions may demand pre-employment checks and a valid

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical repairs and industrial equipment.
• Basic electrical knowledge (such as 24V-480V systems); PLC experience is helpful.
• Basic computer skills for entering and tracking work.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred experience working on conveyor systems and related components, cranes or heavy material handling equipment.
• Preferred experience working as boilermaker, millwright, industrial service tech, etc.
• Experience with industrial maintenance programs or systems.
• Ability to meet various pre-employment requirements including TWIC, background check, drug and alcohol screening, MVR, and fitness-for-duty.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair coke handling equipment used in plant operations, including belt conveyors, heavy equipment, hydraulic and lubrication pump systems, railcar loading systems, coke drum un-heading and re-heading equipment, bridge cranes, pumps, motors, hydraulics, etc., and other coke handling and refinery machinery.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Inspect equipment before and after shifts.
• Follow all site safety rules and procedures.
• Keep accurate maintenance and service records.
• Use maintenance systems (such as CMMS) to track work.
• Support the Savage Maintenance Program.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintain and repair coke handling equipment used in plant operations, including equipment such as:
