Position Purpose:

Under the direction of facility leadership, the Maintenance Technician performs all maintenance functions, including preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all buildings, grounds, and plant machinery and equipment.

Key Job Activities:

1. Perform duties in accordance with manufacturer and Stericycle procedures, adhering to safety standards including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, etc.
2. Diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs promptly, and respond to urgent repairs as needed to maintain operational readiness.
3. Conduct routine, preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on machinery such as autoclaves, air pollution control devices, pumps, hydraulic systems, water treatment equipment, electrical systems, and plumbing.
4. Perform light electrical maintenance on plant equipment, including troubleshooting PLCs, robotics, and control loop systems.
5. Engage in light to heavy fabrication, including welding, torch work, plasma cutting, and grinding.
6. Support the Facility/Maintenance Manager and ensure safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of the facility.
7. Document work through work orders or in a CMMS system.
8. Stay current on safety training and be available for emergency repairs outside scheduled hours.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience or training, with ability to identify repairs and ensure production schedules are met.
• Experience with forklifts, aerial lifts, rigging, and maintenance permits, including LOTO and confined space programs.

Licenses and Competencies:

• Boiler, welding, or electrical certifications/licenses are a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot, ask questions, and gather information effectively.
• Remain calm under stress, work independently or in teams, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Schedule:

Location: 1551 Shelton Drive, Hollister, CA

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 2pm-10pm

Must be willing to work overtime and be on-call as needed.

Schedule may change based on business needs.
