Pay levels are decided during the interview based on your skills, knowledge, and experience. We offer a shift increase for second shift and third shift with a chance for overtime. There is potential to progress quickly within levels based on completed training and demonstrated skills on the job. We have an open position for 3rd shift.

Position Description:

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This full-time, third-shift Maintenance Generalist position is for Tyson Foods’ Vernon, Texas, location. The successful candidate will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment in a food-processing environment. Position will work with scissor lifts, scaffolds, industrial pallet jacks and various chemicals and lubricants and will be responsible for welding, soldering, and assembling equipment.

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic repair preferred.
• Must have a minimum work history of 12 consecutive months in maintenance related field in the previous 18 months.
• Must be able and willing to complete work without direct supervision and be able to manage time.
• Must be able and willing to serve as a member of the Emergency Response and Intermediate Fire Fighting Teams.
• Must be able and willing to complete required documentation daily.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Must be willing and able to work 8 - 12 hour shifts.

• Must be willing and able to work in non-weather humidity, cold, and heat.

Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to three (3) times of employment.
