MB HAYNES Corporation in Asheville, NC seeks a skilled maintenance technician to maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and keep accurate maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience preferred
• Must pass employer performance test or standard tests to meet certification standards
• Must pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening
• Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance
• Must be able to get along with fellow workers, other tradesmen on the job site, inspectors, customers and the public
• Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds
• Properly use safety equipment and personal protective equipment
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all types of hand tools

Responsibilities

• Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
• Completes preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines
• Troubleshoots malfunctions and locates sources of problems
• Removes defective parts and disassembles devices with hoists, cranes and hand tools
• Inspects parts for dimensional changes using calipers and micrometers
• Maintains inventory of parts and supplies and places orders as needed
• Maintains safety and clean work environment in accordance with regulations
• Keeps maintenance reports and documents actions and trends
• Prepares mechanical maintenance information and attends technical workshops

Position Summary

Maintains production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipmentEnsures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines motors pneumatic tools conveyor systems and production machines; following diagrams sketches operations manuals manufacturers instructions and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctionsLocates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrumentsRemoves defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists cranes and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of partsDetermines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules calipers micrometers and other measuring instrumentsAdjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools levels plumb bobs and straightedgesControls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring complianceFabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipmentMaintains equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment parts and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receiptConserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job resultsProvides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requestsPrepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting analyzing and summarizing information and trendsMaintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networksMaintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needsMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures rules and regulationsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Requirements
