Job summary

Vesuvius North America in Cleveland, OH seeks a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair plant equipment. You will read pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical prints, weld, pipe fit and troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery.

The role requires heavy manual labor, independent work, and adherence to HSE standards. Responsibilities include breakdowns, PMs, capital projects, and scheduled maintenance; heavy tool use; operation of a lift truck; and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industrial maintenance experience with troubleshooting in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLCs.
• Maintenance Journeyman’s card or 2 years technical courses from an accredited program.
• Physically fit for heavy manual labor; able to work safely per HSE standards.
• Good written and verbal communication; able to keep accurate records.
• Own basic tools; able to interpret pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical prints.
• Experience with PLCs and microprocessor controls is required.
• Independent worker with strong attendance; able to follow complex instructions.
• Active member of an Emergency Response Team (ERT).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair plant equipment; troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
• Work on breakdowns, PMs, capital projects and scheduled maintenance.
• Read and interpret pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings; weld, pipe fit and assemble electrical components.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and perform timely repairs.
• Operate a lift truck and carry required tools; maintain tool belt with minimum tools.
• Follow management/engineering instructions; ensure personal safety and HSE compliance.
• Maintain good housekeeping in work area; ensure accurate records and reporting.
