Scotts Miracle-Gro in Marysville, OH is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our production team. This hands-on hourly role supports electrical and electro-mechanical maintenance, plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.

You must be prepared to work across shifts and respond to equipment issues to keep the line running. The position starts at $34.95 per hour with weekly pay and a progression scale.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in electronics/electrical maintenance preferred.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance/equipment repair experience.
• Mechanical maintenance experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and find innovative solutions.
• Strong problem solving and continuous improvement focus with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Proven organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to operate electrical, electronic and pneumatic test equipment.
• Ability to climb stairs (up to 10 flights) with tools.
• Experience with SAP is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and install electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation.
• Configure and validate instrumentation using appropriate test equipment.
• Modify and restore Allen Bradley PLC programs and verify software revisions.
• Maintain PLC backup files and interpret electrical drawings.
• Read and update PLC ladder logic and connect PLCs via network protocols.
• Read and update electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Perform mechanical repair and assist mechanics as needed.
• Maintain CMMS records, manage spare parts, and issue repair tags.
• Document maintenance activities and develop optimized job plans.
• Adhere to housekeeping and safety rules.

This hourly role follows the Scotts/Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $34.95 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our team in Marysville, OH.

The Industrial Maintenance Electrician will perform electrical and electro-mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance in support of the production facility. The selected candidate must be prepared to provide support to the plant at all hours, be a self-motivator and must consistently drive for results.

What you’ll do in this role:

• Troubleshoot, repair and install electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation
• Configure, scale and validate instrumentation using Laptop Computer, HART communicator, or other appropriate test equipment
• Restore and modify Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PLC-5) PLC programs and verify correct software revisions/editions
• Maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) backup files using state of the art software and maintain/catalog these backups for support. Interpret electrical and electronic symbols and their functions as they pertain to electrical drawings/schematics
• Read interpret and update Allen Bradley PLC ladder programs, connect Laptop Computer to PLC via network protocols (serial, DH485, DH+, E-net, C-net, D-net, RS-485, RS-232, etc.)_
• Read, interpret and update electrical blueprints, schematics and flow diagrams
• Perform associated mechanical repair and installations as required and assist mechanics with fault isolation and repair.
• Maintain records applicable to the job. Use CMMS to obtain spare parts, retrieve work orders and generate new work orders. Assume responsibility for signing out spare parts and completing repair tags
• Record maintenance activities, develop and execute job plans, and communicate new procedures used in troubleshooting
• Comply with housekeeping and safety rules

What you’ll need to be successful:

• High School diploma or GED required. Associates degree or technical certification in electronics or electrical maintenance preferred.
• At least 5 years prior manufacturing or industrial maintenance, equipment repair or electronics experience.
• Mechanical Maintenance experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to think out of the box and find innovative solutions.
• Strong problem solving and continuous improvement focus with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Proven organizational skills; ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands.
• Ability to operate electrical, electronic and pneumatic test equipment.
• Ability to walk up 10 flights of stairs with tools.
• Personal computer skills and experience with SAP is a plus, but not required.
