Job summary

U.S. Water Heating seeks an Industrial Maintenance Apprentice who blends hands-on technical training with required coursework toward an Associate of Applied Science degree. You will repair and fabricate facility machinery while earning your degree, balancing equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and plant improvement support.

You will participate in continuing education, maintain forklift certification, and work with a team on flexible hours to meet production needs.

Qualifications

• Must participate in continuing education courses toward the AAS degree.
• Previous technical school background or related experience is preferred.
• Willing to learn maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and repair.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting and repair.
• Industrial maintenance/manufacturing experience and/or preventive maintenance is a plus.
• PLC training or experience; Electrical/electronic training.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain a variety of production and facility equipment.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel and supervisors as required.
• Move machines under direction and install pipe, fixtures, and related equipment; support plant improvement projects.
• Use machine tools or other equipment to form/fabricate parts and components.
• Build simple structures from wood, metal, or other materials using hand tools, power tools, welding and basic fabrication techniques.
• Obtain tools, clean up area, and store tools and equipment.
• Maintain forklift certification.
• Perform other duties as required.
