Core Linen Services in Oak Creek, WI is seeking a Maintenance Technician Apprentice to support production equipment and preventative maintenance in a busy commercial laundry plant. You will learn under engineering and senior staff, gain hands-on experience with conveyor systems, overhead rails, and mechanical drives, and contribute to safe, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong motivation, reliability, and willingness to go the extra mile for quality results.
• Solid communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks as they arise.
• Familiarity with safe operation of hand and power tools, as well as adherence to all company safety procedures.
• Basic working knowledge of machinery, with the ability to assist in the repair and maintenance of mechanical drive, conveyor, and overhead rail systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance activities as outlined by the maintenance schedule.
• Ensure timely and high-quality completion of maintenance and repairs, including work on overhead rail and conveyor systems.
• Assist both internal and external technical and mechanical personnel as required to complete complex tasks.
• Maintain a detailed maintenance log, recording any incomplete tasks, new issues, and actions taken.
• Communicate with Production Supervisors to report equipment status, including any impacts on production or downtime, and updates when machinery is operational again.
• Identify and correct equipment issues such as jams, belt problems, or missing ironer tape, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tag out, confined space entry, and working with hot equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring a safe environment for yourself and colleagues.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary to support plant operations.
