Job summary

Taldeco is hiring an experienced Industrial Machinist in Detroit, MI. The role focuses on CNC and manual machining and precision grinding of large steel components, reading blueprints and ensuring high-quality results.

The position requires setup and operation of mills and grinders with attention to safety and accuracy. Experience with overhead cranes and measurement tools is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in CNC machining, manual machining, or industrial surface grinding.
• Experience with CNC vertical or horizontal mills; manual/floor/planer/boring mills; Mattison, Thompson, Danobat or similar grinders.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, manual mills, or industrial surface grinders.
• Machine and grind large steel components to required specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings.
• Perform machine setups, adjustments, and tooling changes.
• Use micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
• Work with overhead cranes and other equipment to position heavy parts.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
