Job summary

Jobot in Warren, MI is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a precision manufacturing team. Set up, operate, and monitor CNC equipment to produce precision components, reading blueprints and specifications, and maintaining quality.

You will work with ISO quality processes, select tooling, adjust offsets, and collaborate with quality and supervision to keep jobs on schedule. Strong measurement and problem‑solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience as CNC Machinist in precision manufacturing or job shop.
  • Strong reading of blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tight-tolerance machining.
  • Experience selecting tooling and setting machine offsets.
  • Excellent measurement and inspection skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce precision machined components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and production orders.
  • Select proper tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machine settings based on job requirements.
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes, offsets, and adjustments.
  • Inspect finished and in‑process parts to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
  • Utilize micrometers, calipers, gauges, indicators, and other precision inspection equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Optimize setups and machining processes to improve efficiency and repeatability.
  • Document inspection results and production information as required.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Work closely with quality, supervisors, and other machinists to keep jobs on schedule.

We are working with an established precision manufacturing company in the Warren, MI area that is looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist to its team.

This is a true custom machining environment producing precision components from bar stock for customers across industries including hydraulics, pneumatics, medical equipment, and industrial manufacturing.

Production can range from small custom batches to higher-volume runs, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable with variety, takes ownership of their setups, and understands how to produce quality parts consistently.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience as a CNC Machinist in a precision manufacturing or job shop environment.
  • Strong CNC lathe experience; CNC milling experience is also valuable.
  • Ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment.
  • Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and tight‑tolerance machining.
  • Experience selecting tooling and making machine offsets and adjustments.
  • Strong understanding of precision measurement and inspection methods.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues.
  • Experience working with different materials and varying production quantities.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
Preferred Background
  • Technical training, apprenticeship, or vocational education in machining or manufacturing.
  • Experience machining components for hydraulic, pneumatic, medical, aerospace, automotive, or other precision industries.
  • Experience with bar‑fed CNC equipment, CNC lathes, screw machines, or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with basic CNC programming or program edits.
  • Experience working within ISO or other formal quality systems.
