Job summary

Schaefer Equipment is seeking a Manufacturing/Machine Operator to run a range of industrial machines and produce high‑quality parts. You will interpret blueprints, verify tolerances, and help ensure safety and efficiency on the shop floor.

You will work independently or with a team, follow work instructions, and contribute to special projects as needed. The role requires reading drawings and maintaining quality, with training provided for complex tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 3 months of related experience/training or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read and follow all quality process/work instructions.
• Must obey all safety rules and wear all proper Personal Protection Equipment
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machines, hammers, presses, drills, and/or grinders.
• Ensure workpiece quality is at the required specifications
• Analyze blueprints of parts and/or dies
• Verify conformance of machines workpieces to specifications
• Participate in special projects
• Follow instructions of group/crew leader
• Other duties as assigned
