Job Description: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Promote safety, quality, operational performance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Recommend maintenance and repairs based on production needs and equipment demands to supervision, operations, and/or management.
• Coordinate the plant maintenance program based on best practices, emphasizing planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment; recommend reordering when necessary.
• Manage the computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history.
• Ensure all maintenance activities, supplies, and purchases comply with company policies and applicable regulations.

Authority:

• Work with outside contractors for repairs within company policy.
• Recommend maintenance supplies and parts inventory within guidelines.
• Shut down operations if a safety concern arises.

Duties:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and determine course of action for equipment failures.
• Monitor plant equipment and systems.
• Perform repairs or coordinate with management for outside repairs.
• Inform plant operations of required work and repair timelines.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports promptly.
• Perform additional duties and work hours as needed.

Standards of Performance:

• Prioritize and manage tasks effectively and timely.
• Resolve inquiries, order changes, and errors promptly within established timeframes.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals.

Education & Experience:

• 5-10 years of maintenance experience in steel and/or industrial production.
• Familiarity with CNC-controlled equipment, overhead cranes, and hydraulic systems.
