Job summary

Vestis Corporation in Chicago, IL is seeking a Class "A" Industrial Laundry Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift (Mon-Fri, 10pm-6:30am). You will work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility to perform preventive maintenance on high-volume washers and dryers and support safe operations.

This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, ability to troubleshoot from manuals, and the discipline to follow maintenance schedules while keeping records.

Qualifications

• Must have basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Familiar with preventive maintenance schedules.
• Knowledge of industrial laundry equipment and codes.
• Ability to follow training and written instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication; capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant equipment including high-volume washers and dryers.
• Repair or replace equipment; perform basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work.
• Troubleshoot using manuals and schematics.
• Order parts and tools per policy.
• Maintain daily maintenance schedule and records.
• Handle daily removal and processing of waste solids.
• Perform wastewater-related maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and lock-out tag-out policies.
• Other duties as required.
