Job summary

Vestis Birmingham facility seeks a team member to safely and accurately handle merchandise in an industrial laundry. You will follow a shipping schedule, sort garments by route, and hang items in batches with attention to quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include monitoring line flow, addressing any issues, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Expect shift work, possible weekend OT, and teamwork with fellow colleagues.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Responsibilities

• Becomes familiar with the garment numbering system and shipping schedule board.
• Follows a shipping schedule and sorts garments by route (first/second/third).
• Moves garments from supply rail to conveyors or hooks by route or customer number.
• Hangs shirts and pants in the proper sequence for each batch.
• Places odd garments in the correct space on the odd-numbered bar.
• Reports quality, mechanical, or shipping issues to supervision.
• Stops the line if jams occur and monitors for line efficiency.
• Monitors garments for wrinkles and rejects items not meeting quality standards.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and follows production best practices.
• Assists with other duties as assigned.
