Job summary

Austin Industries is seeking a General Laborer for our industrial projects in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform labor-intensive tasks under supervision, operate basic hand and power tools, and help prepare sites for construction work.

Applicants should have the ability to lift heavy objects, work in heat, and communicate effectively. A valid state ID or driver's license is required. This is an Equal Opportunity Employer position with safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

• Education: no minimum education requirements.
• Experience: 12+ months of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Certification/License: A valid state ID or Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform strenuous manual labor, including lifting 25+ lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in heat.
• Shovel bituminous concrete (asphalt) or other material into construction area.
• Assist in patching asphalt with hot and cold mix; excavate and fill trenches and ditches.
• Maintain a clean job site and secure the site daily to eliminate hazards.
• Material handling and storage.
• Load and unload trucks and hoist materials.
• Follow safety and incident reporting procedures; report problems to Foreman or Safety personnel.
• Possess knowledge of equipment and supplies used in an industrial setting.
• Work independently and complete daily activities per schedule.
