Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Lab Technician for our Florence, SC location. The role provides general facility maintenance support under supervision, focusing on safety and GMP-compliant lab areas.

You will work with building 801 and QC labs, performing preventive maintenance and repairs on key process equipment. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in maintenance, the ability to read technical documentation, and familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Continuing education courses/certificates in trades or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of maintenance experience in facility settings.
• Specialized skills in electrical, plumbing, mechanical maintenance, welding, grinding, metal work, or machinery preferred.
• Equivalency by education, training, or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain site safety and environmental compliance.
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on site mechanical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret prints, schematics, piping diagrams, and manuals.
• Maintain equipment and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Assist in relocation or redesign of lab areas and reactor supply spaces.
• Adhere to SOPs, GMP, GDP, and company quality systems.
