Job summary

Dow Jones in LaGrange, GA seeks an IT Technician to support maintenance and operation of electronic and electromechanical systems critical to publishing. You will work with minimal supervision, 35 hours per week, with overtime possible, and report to the Technology Services Manager.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and integrate new technologies across pressroom, mailroom, and building systems, develop documentation and training, perform upgrades, and coordinate with vendors to maintain safety and

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience supporting technology systems relevant to this role.
• Production environment experience is a plus, preferably in newspaper printing.
• Conveyor lines distribution/mail packaging experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of middleware integration, networking technologies, and application performance tuning.
• Troubleshooting network and data communications systems with diagnostic tools.
• Familiarity with desktop OS, peripherals, and databases theory.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown repair response and coordination with machinists.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic and electromechanical components.
• Support integration of new technologies and liaise with vendors.
• Provide technical guidance, training and support to staff.
• Develop and maintain documentation and training materials.
• Plan and execute system software, application and hardware upgrades.
• Respond to complex technical issues and coordinate with teams and vendors.
• Maintain logs/reports and communicate network/system status to management.
