Job summary

POET in Ashton, IA is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and install instrument and electrical systems at the bioprocessing facility. The role requires following electrical codes, reviewing procedures, and supporting 24/7 plant operations.

You will calibrate and repair measurement/control instruments, troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O, maintain inventories, and assist with safety and training programs while collaborating with the management team to keep all

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of standard electrical equipment and work practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and install up to 4160V systems and 4-20 mA loops.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O including 4-20mA loops, 120V/24DC I/O.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Read and translate PLC code, schematic wiring, and P&ID diagrams.
• Industrial network experience.
• 1-3 years of related work experience.
• Experience with 3 phase electrical systems up to 4160V.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and identify root cause, repair or replace parts, rewire and install related instrument/electrical goods.
• Ensure work complies with local electrical codes including 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V, 24V DC and 4-20 mA loops.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O including 4-20mA loops, 120V/24DC I/O.
• Calibrate, configure, and repair measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH.
• Maintain instrument/electrical parts inventories and document records.
• Be available for after-hours call-ins for emergencies and outages.
• Promote safe behavior and environmental compliance.
